You’ll have your own secure, lockable space while sharing common areas—like the kitchen, living room, and laundry—with other residents. It’s an affordable and flexible way to live comfortably without the high cost of renting an entire apartment or house.

What’s included with my rent?
All Suite Housing rooms are fully furnished and move-in ready. Rent includes utilities such as electricity, water, gas, trash, and possibly Wi-Fi. We also maintain and clean the shared common areas, so you can focus on work or school without the hassle of extra bills or chores.

What can I expect when moving in?
You can expect a clean, secure, and comfortable space ready for immediate move-in. Each Suite Housing home is equipped with essential kitchenware, furniture, lighting, and bedding. Before arrival, the home and your private room are cleaned and inspected, and you’ll receive clear move-in instructions and access details.

Do I need good credit or a long-term lease to rent a room?
No. Suite Housing was designed to make housing more accessible. We don’t require a traditional long-term lease or high credit score. Our flexible terms allow you to rent by the room while rebuilding credit or transitioning between jobs, schools, or cities.

Is Coliving or Rent-by-the-Room housing safe?
Yes. Safety and comfort are top priorities at Suite Housing. Every resident has successsfully gone through a background check. We screen residents to help ensure a respectful living environment, and our maintenance team regularly checks that homes are secure and well-kept. You will have a private, lockable bedroom. All homes are located in established neighborhoods with convenient access to work, transit, and shopping. You’ll have the privacy of your own space and the peace of mind that comes from living in a managed, professionally maintained property.

Can I do Coliving with my own friends?
Yes. If you and your friends want to live together, let the Suite Housing coordinator know on your inquiry form, or during your application. We’ll do our best to place you in the same home, depending on availability and timing.

What is co-living? 
Co-living is a rental model where you rent a private, furnished bedroom in a professionally managed shared home and share common spaces like the kitchen, living room, and laundry with a few other residents. Rent is typically simpler than a traditional apartment because utilities and furnishings are bundled in. Suite Housing operates co-living homes across the Charlotte metro area for professionals, students, and people relocating.
How is co-living different from renting an apartment? Renting an apartment means signing a full lease, furnishing the whole unit, and setting up utilities, internet, and deposits yourself. Co-living gives you a private and safe furnished room with utilities, Wi-Fi, and shared common areas already set up, without the monthly utilities + WiFi cost and with a faster, simpler move-in/out. It suits people who want flexibility and less overhead.

How is co-living different from just having roommates? 
With typical roommates, you find strangers, split bills manually, share one lease, and manage disputes yourselves. Suite Housing co-living is professionally managed: each resident has their own rental agreement, one predictable monthly payment covers utilities and Wi-Fi, common areas are furnished and maintained, and there is a management team to handle issues. You get the financial flexibility of shared living without the drama.

If you need a fully private unit with no shared spaces, a traditional apartment may suit you better.

Each Suite Housing home is a residential house with several private bedrooms and shared common areas, including a furnished living room, a full kitchen, and in-house laundry. Homes are set up move-in ready with Wi-Fi and utilities active. The goal is a comfortable, well-kept home, not a crowded rooming house.
 
What is included
 
What is included in the rent? At Suite Housing, one monthly payment covers your private furnished bedroom, utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, and access to fully furnished shared spaces like the kitchen, living room, and laundry. Bundled: electricity, water, gas, trash, streaming. This bundled model means no separate utility accounts to set up and one predictable bill each month instead of several.
 
Are utilities included in the rent? 
They sure are. Suite Housing rooms include utilities in one monthly payment, so you do not set up or pay separate accounts for [electricity, water, gas, and trash]. This is one of the main advantages over a traditional apartment, where utilities are billed on top of rent.

Is the room furnished? 
Absolutley. Every Suite Housing bedroom comes furnished with a bed, a comfortable mattress, a nightstand, a desk, and seating; some rooms also have a TV and a mini fridge. The shared spaces are fully furnished as well. You can move in with just your personal belongings, which makes co-living ideal for traveling professionals and anyone relocating who does not want to buy or move furniture.

Is Wi-Fi included? 
Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi is included in your monthly payment at every Suite Housing home, already active when you move in. There is no separate internet account to set up or pay for.

What is provided in the shared spaces? 
Shared spaces are fully furnished and stocked with the basics. The kitchen includes major appliances, cookware, and small appliances (coffee machine, air fryer, dishware); the living room has, and free laundry is on site. Common areas are maintained so you can use them from day one without buying anything.
 
Do the rooms have private bathrooms? 
Some Suite Housing rooms include a private or en-suite bathroom, while others share a bathroom with one or two housemates. Availability of private bathrooms varies by home. When you inquire about a specific room, we will tell you the exact bathroom arrangement so there are no surprises.

Is there housekeeping or cleaning? 
Yes, for all the common areas. Residents keep their own rooms clean.  Suite Housing arranges periodic professional cleaning of shared spaces to keep the home comfortable for everyone. House expectations for shared spaces are provided at move-in so the home stays welcoming for all residents.
 
Pricing and payments

How much does it cost to rent a room? 
Suite Housing rooms in the Charlotte metro area typically range from $950 to $1,350 per month, which includes your furnished room, utilities, and Wi-Fi. Pricing varies by home, room size, and whether the bathroom is private or shared. Contact us with your move-in date and preferred area for current availability and exact pricing.

Is there a security deposit? 
Yes, Suite Housing requires a security deposit that varies based on the size of the room and the location.  It is refundable at move-out based on the condition of the room and any balance owed. We run “New house” specials, and if you refer someone, you also get bonuses. The deposit and any first payment are due once your application is approved and you are ready to reserve the room.

Are there any application or upfront fees? 
Only if you are accepted. There is a $25 application fee that covers screening and processing. At move-in, you pay your first month and security deposit. We list every charge upfront so you know your total move-in cost before you commit.

How do I pay rent? 
Rent is paid either weekly or monthly through the Suite Housing portal, with options for AutoPay. You make one payment that covers your room, utilities, and Wi-Fi. Auto-pay is available so you never miss a due date. Payment instructions are provided when your rental agreement is signed.

Are there any hidden fees? 
Nope, never. Suite Housing uses one bundled monthly payment that covers your room, utilities, and Wi-Fi, and we disclose the deposit, any application fee, and move-in total before you sign. We will explain any late fees or a lost-key fee, so residents know them in advance. Transparent pricing is part of how we operate.
 
Do I need renters insurance? 
Additional renters insurance is recommended for Suite Housing residents to protect your personal belongings, since the home's coverage does not cover residents' possessions. A basic policy is inexpensive. Usually about $17/month. We can point you to affordable options when you move in.

Do you accept BAH
Yes, your BAH is welcomed.
 
Lease and terms
​
What is the minimum stay? 
Suite Housing offers flexible terms with a minimum stay of [3 months, which is shorter than the standard 12-month apartment lease. This flexibility is why traveling nurses, contract workers, and people relocating choose co-living. Longer terms are available if you want to stay put, and month-to-month may be an option after your initial term. But we are not a hotel.

Do you offer month-to-month rentals? 
Yes, month-to-month is available after an initial minimum stay of 3 months. Month-to-month suits residents who need flexibility, such as travel professionals on rolling contracts or newcomers still deciding where to settle. Ask about current month-to-month availability when you inquire.

Can I rent a room short-term? 
Yes. Suite Housing supports short-term stays from 3 months, which makes it a strong fit for traveling nurses, contract workers, and professionals on temporary assignments in the Charlotte metro area. Short-term rooms come furnished with utilities and Wi-Fi included, so you can move in quickly and leave when your assignment ends without a long lease.

Can I extend my stay? 
Please do! If you want to stay longer, let us know before your term ends, and we will extend your agreement when your room is available. Many Suite Housing residents extend or move to another room within our homes. Giving us early notice helps us hold your room and keep your rate.
 
What happens if I need to move out early? 
If you need to leave before your term ends, contact us as early as possible. Our agreement outlines the notice period, typically 15 days; you will be responsible for any remaining monies for the 3 months as stated in the agreement. We work with residents on genuine changes in circumstances, and early notice gives us the best chance to help.

How much notice do I give before moving out? 
Suite Housing asks for 30 days' written notice before your planned move-out date so we can prepare the room for the next resident. Your notice period is stated in your rental agreement. Giving proper notice helps us to continue serving the co-living community.

How do I apply for a room? 
Applying is simple. Visit suitehousing.com, submit an inquiry or application with your move-in date and preferred area, and complete a short screening. Once approved, you sign your rental agreement, pay your deposit and first payment, and schedule move-in. Most applicants hear back within 3 days
 
Do I need good credit to rent a room? 
Naw. Suite Housing looks at the whole picture, not just a credit score. We consider income, rental history, and background, so applicants without perfect or established credit can still qualify. Your Job is your Credit. This makes co-living accessible to first-time renters, graduate students, and newcomers. Reach out, and we will walk you through what we need.

Do you run a background check? 
Yes. Suite Housing screens applicants with a background and eviction/criminal history check to keep every home safe and comfortable for our residents. Screening is standard and applies to everyone. Your information is handled securely as part of the application.
 
What are the income requirements? 
Suite Housing typically asks that your monthly income be about 2 to 3x the rent, which you can show with pay stubs, an offer letter, or other proof. Because co-living rent is lower than a full apartment, this bar is easier to meet. Travel contracts and stipends count. Contact us if your situation is unique.
 
Can I rent with no rental history? 
Definitely. Suite Housing welcomes first-time renters and graduate students who have little or no rental history. We look at income and background alongside history, so a limited rental record alone will not disqualify you. Co-living is often the easiest way to rent your first place.
 
Can students apply? 
Sure. Suite Housing rooms are a good fit for graduate students who want a furnished, all-inclusive room between the school and employment. One monthly payment covers rent, utilities, and Wi-Fi, which is easier to budget than an apartment. BUT, we are NOT a party house. We invite adult residents; there are house rules, quiet times, and responsibilities to be adhered to, including respect for others, and you should expect the same in return.

Can international students or newcomers to the US apply? 
Yes. Suite Housing can work with international students and people new to the US who may not have US credit or rental history yet. We consider proof of income, enrollment, or employment. A larger deposit or co-signer will be required. Reach out and we will explain exactly what documentation we need.
 
How long does approval take? 
Most applications are reviewed within 2 to 4 business days once screening is complete. If your paperwork and proof of income are ready when you apply, approval can be same-day. Fast turnaround is important for travel professionals and relocating workers on tight timelines, so we move quickly and keep you updated.
Move-in and availability.

How soon can I move in? 
You will know before applying if we have a room available and when. Because Suite Housing rooms come furnished with utilities and Wi-Fi already active, you can often move in within 3 days of approval. There is no waiting to set up furniture or accounts. If you have a specific date, tell us when you inquire, and we will match you to a room that is ready within your window.
 
Are rooms available right now? 
Availability changes weekly. The best way to see current openings is to complete the form on suitehousing.com or send us your move-in date and preferred area, and we will share what is open. We serve the Charlotte metro area, including Mecklenburg, Iredell, Gaston, Rowan, and more counties, so ask about the location you want.

Can I tour a home before I rent? 
Yes. Suite Housing offers in-person and virtual tours so you can see the room and shared spaces before you commit. A tour is the best way to get a feel for the home. We also have open house showings for every new home before it is occupied. Contact us.

What do I need to move in? 
Once approved, you sign your rental agreement, pay your security deposit and first month’s rent, and provide your ID and proof of income if not already submitted. Then you bring your personal belongings and move in, since the room and home are already furnished. We send a simple move-in checklist so you know exactly what to bring.

Are there house rules? 
Yes. Suite Housing homes follow simple house guidelines that keep shared living comfortable and safe. Rules/Agreements which cover things like respect for common areas, quiet hours, guests, and cleanliness. Every resident agrees to the same guidelines, which is what keeps the homes calm and well-kept. You receive the full list at move-in so expectations are clear from day one.
 
Can I have guests? 
No. Suite Housing asks that you be considerate of housemates and shared spaces, and do not let anyone not on the lease onto the property. Guest guidelines keep the home comfortable for everyone. The specifics are included in your house guidelines at move-in.
 
Are pets allowed? 
We are sorry, but no.

Can I share a room?
Not at this time, Suite Housing can only accomodate one person per room.

Do you allow children?
Not at this time, Suite Housing can only accomodate adults. We are planning to build for single parents with a child in the very near future.

Do you offer a "Sober living" program?
Sorry, we do not.
 
Is smoking allowed? 
Suite Housing homes are smoke-free indoors to keep shared spaces clean and comfortable for all residents. There are designated outdoor areas. This policy applies to every resident. It is part of the house guidelines you agree to at move-in.
 
Is there parking? 
Yes. Suite Housing homes offer assigned parking for residents. Parking availability varies by home and location. When you inquire about a specific room, we will tell you the parking situation so you know what to expect, which is especially useful if you commute or travel for work.
 
How are roommate conflicts handled? 
Because Suite Housing is professionally managed, you are not left to resolve issues alone. If a concern comes up with a housemate, you contact management, and we help mediate and enforce the house guidelines everyone agreed to. This structure is a key reason residents choose managed co-living over an informal roommate arrangement.
 
Do the bedrooms lock for privacy? 
Absolutely. Each Suite Housing bedroom has a lockable door so your private space stays private. You get your own key code for your room in addition to home access. And you can double-lock from the inside of your bedroom and the bathrooms. Privacy and security matter, especially in shared living, so every resident has a secure, private room of their own.
 
Are the homes co-ed? Sometimes.
Suite Housing homes are generally co-ed, with rooms assigned individually. We do offer some homes or arrangements that are all-female or all-male on request. Tell us your preference when you inquire, and we will match you to a home that fits your comfort level and current availability.

Do you offer housing for travel nurses? 
We love Nurses. Suite Housing is a strong fit for travel nurses and healthcare workers on assignment in the Charlotte area. Rooms are furnished with utilities and Wi-Fi included, terms are flexible and short-term friendly, and move-in is fast, which matches the pace of travel contracts. Tell us your contract dates and preferred hospital area and we will find a room near your assignment.
 
Do you offer housing for people relocating for work? 
Yes. If you are relocating to the Charlotte metro area for a new job, Suite Housing gives you a furnished, move-in ready room while you get established, without signing a year-long lease or furnishing an apartment. Many residents use co-living as an easy landing spot, then decide on longer-term housing once they know the area.
 
Do you offer corporate or short-term professional housing? 
Yes. Suite Housing provides furnished, all-inclusive rooms that work well for professionals on temporary assignments, contractors, and remote workers who need reliable short-term housing in the metro Charlotte area. We can invoice employers or arrange multiple rooms for a team.
